Random: Adventures In Speed Dating, Part II
Hi guys!
In case you missed the first installment of my foray into the world of speed dating, you can read it here.
Ok, back to the stories...
The Nitty Gritty
As for actual dates, they generally went smoothly and got easier as the night went along. It got kind of loud after a while, but that’s to be expected I suppose.
Here are some date highlights :)
(Names and certain details have been changed of course!)
Biff had interesting hair (think: muffy, mullet-ish) and is a big fan of electronic chess and going to the gym. Verdict – Nope!
Xavier was a little soft spoken and worked with computers. Nice guy but, struck me as very bland. Can’t even remember what he does for fun. Verdict— Naahh!
Neil was outspoken patent lawyer who was very interested in setting me up with his (allegedly) super hot and smart co-worker who was not in attendance. Funny guy, shady setup, though. Verdict – would be fun to keep in touch and meeting this co-worker could be a story in and of itself!
Paul and Rajiv were both bubbly and very into salsa dancing. Verdict —Nope! Paul was too short (5’6” or so) and I wasn’t really attracted to Rajiv.
Yin dubbed himself a "low brow foodie" when I asked him what his passions were. He was smart and cute and Japanese. Verdict— Nahh. No sparks.
Sean and I chatted at the bar before the event started. Very witty and funny, but also claimed to not have a personality until the second or third martini. Hmm...Verdict- Gut says no, but could be a fun adventure, lol.
Jack was fluent in French (majored in it in college) and seemed intimidated by where I went to college. Verdict—Nope!
Jim was new in town from Texas and just looking to meet new people.
He was so nervous though, he was shaking. Poor thing. Verdict - Umm...no.
And the moral of the story is...
Everyone's eyes lit up when I mentioned being a blogger. I dished out a couple skin care tips and a couple guys took down my URL (hi, if you're reading!!) In fact, on a couple dates (when I knew I wasn't in anyway interested) I left out the fact that I had a day job
:)
So, Beauties, that's pretty much it. I had fun and would do it again for sure. A couple friends and I are going to another speed dating event next Friday geared towards brown folks in their mid/late 20's and 30's. I'll be sure to let you know how that goes!
Stay Beautiful
